Vitrum Signum, as it has been known for many years, first appeared in the early seventies as Camden Workshops, to provide a specialist service to enamellers both in the UK and worldwide.
Enamelling is a very ancient craft dating back to at least circa the 12th century. It is the art of fusing glass to a metal base – usually Copper, Silver and Gold. Enamel consists of very fine glass coloured with the help of metal oxides. The different types of Enamel are: Transparent, Opaque, Opalescent, Painting Enamel and Liquid Enamel.
